Household decorative containers:

Items needed:

Take an empty, clean can.  Cut out the bottom.  Take yarn and loop it around a side of the can.  Tie it together; then take the yarn and wrap it around and around the can until it is fully covered with the yarn in straight up and down rows.  Once covered tie the end of the yarn to an inside thread.  Use the once lid as the bottom so that you can store things in there.

Decorative candle holder:

Items needed:

Take the cleaned can and smear it with glue.  Wrap paper over the wet clue and let dry (make sure that edges overlap).  Once it is dry cut out a doorway near the bottom, so that the top arch is about a 1/3 of the way up and the opening is only in the front of the can.  Take cotton balls and pull apart to make it like a cloud.  Glue into the bottom of the can (or use Easter basket grass).  Place and glue figures into the cotton/grass.

Place the metal mason jar ring in the top so that it is recessed.  Slip the glass jar down and the ring will hold it in place.  Drop votive candle into jar and you are done.

***For easy candle lighting, use a piece of dry spaghetti.  Light end and then use to reach down.

Tambourine:

Items needed:

1.  Take clean metal tins and put beans in 1 tin.  Put glue around edges of both tins.  If you want tassels place yarn string over the edges.  Put the tins together and let dry.  Can decorate outside with glitter.

2.  Cut out 2 circles in the paper both bigger then the hole on the towel roll.  Put glue on one edge of roll and fold paper over so that the hole is covered.  Smooth edges.  Once dry tie with yarn for decorative look.  Place dried beans inside and then repeat gluing process for other side. Decorate the outside as needed.

Multi-colored Pictures:

Items needed:

Cut two pieces of wax paper.  Put one onto ironing board/counter (wax side up).  Take some old crayons and shave off pieces onto the wax paper.  Make sure that shavings aren't bunched up but cover most of the center, leaving an area around edges clear.  Take second piece of wax paper and place over shavings (wax side down).  Place towel over all of it.  Have the iron set to medium and begin ironing the towel.  Check periodically until crayon shavings are fully melted.  Once done let it cool.

Decorative Pine Cones:

Items needed:

Take pine cones that you have found from outside.  Place them in pot with water and boil them for 10 minutes (this will kill any germs/bugs etc).  Take them out and let them dry. They will close up during boiling process but once dry will open back up again.  Now you can glue glitter on to them or paint them as you would like to.

Collages:

Items needed:

Pick out your favorite pictures and cut them out.  Glue on to cardboard/poster board.  Decorate using markers, paint, glitter.  You can also use dry macaroni (especially the colored kind) to make a pretty frame around it.  Let dry.

More to come.
